Harlow Eugene Krogen, 84, Lake Park, MN, died January 30, 2021, at his home, under care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Harlow was born on the family farm June 12, 1936 to Einer and Inga (Haugen) Krogen. He attended country school and finished his education in Lake Park. From a young age he worked on the family farm and was eventually drafted into the U.S. Army where he served 2 years. Harlow was united in marriage to Diane Nelson on August 30, 1964 at Hawley Lutheran Church. They lived on the family farm and had three children. Harlow raised cattle and drove truck for Quality Meats for many years. He was a hard worker by nature and he was always doing odd jobs for neighbors and helping out his family and friends. He drove beet truck for several years after his retirement at the age of 65.
He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his love for spending time and sharing a cup of coffee with family and friends and creating many memories at Steamer Hill.
Harlow is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane; his children, Sandra Koel, Gardiner, MT, Steven Krogen, Hawley, and Susie Krogen, Lake Park; sister, Caroline (Ron) Frogness, Cumberland, WI; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jerome, Arnold and Ellen.
Visitation will be Friday, February 5, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley, MN. Interment will be at Park Lutheran Church Cemetery.
