Harold Helm

Harold Helm, 90, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018, in Eventide Nursing Home. Harold was born October 23, 1927, in Lincoln Valley, ND, to Ludwig and Vehona (Kirschenmann) Helm. He graduated from Anamoose High School and continued his education at Dakota Business College. Harold began his career as a branch manager with Farmers Union Marketing in West Fargo, ND. On July 16, 1948, he married Norma Haugtvedt. Together they made their home in Fargo before moving to Moorhead in 1955. Harold continued his work with Farmers Union Marketing until retirement. He was faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo. Harold was active in Bible studies, served as an elder, and was a member of Grace Lutheran School Board. Over the years, he enjoyed his yardwork, taking pride in his shubbery, flowers (particularly his roses), and his apple trees. He enjoyed camping, fishing and going on long walks with Norma and his dog, Norski. Most of all he loved his family. He will be dearly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

Harold is survived by his wife of nearly seventy years, Norma; daughters, Phyllis “Ann” Bergeson, Pamela White, Paulette (Paul) Evenson; grandchildren, Tricia (Jeff) Martin, Jenny (Jake Gunderson) Bergeson, Alycia (Levi Eggermont) Bergeson, Zach (Brooke) White, BreAnn (Beau) Haugrud, Kelsey White, Elizabeth White; great-grandchildren, Josh Martin, Addie Martin, Harry Haugrud, Lenny Haugrud; and sister, Violet (Stan) Tomlinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elroy (Helen) Helm, Kenneth (Arlyce) Helm, Wesley (Pearl) Helm; and son-in-law, Paul White.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 14, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
