Harold Luther Lunde

Harold Luther Lunde, 97, of Lake Park, MN, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, in Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, MN.

Harold was born on August 26, 1922, to Severt and Carrie (Raun) Lunde of rural Ulen, MN. He grew up on the farm and attended a one room country school until the eighth grade. He continued his education at Ulen High School, graduating in 1940. Upon graduation, Harold worked on the family farm. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Church in Ulen.

Harold was united in marriage to Lorraine Klemetson on November 26, 1949, at the First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. Harold and his brother, Alton, bought the Lake Park Children’s Home in 1948 near Lake Park where they raised their children and farmed until retirement.

Harold served the Community Co-Op Cenex Board for twenty one years. He was also a member of the Lake Park Lutheran Church.

Harold enjoyed farming, traveling, gardening, mowing the lawn, reading, playing cards, and especially enjoyed visiting his friends and family.

Harold is survived by his sons, Gerald (Coral) Lunde, Bradley (Joan) Lunde, and Kevin (Candace) Lunde; grandchildren, Crystal (Jeff) Asleson, Carmen (Jeremy) Pachel, Casey (Nathan) Christensen, Matthew Lunde, Sheena (Joshua) Rapkin, Tristan Lunde, Bryce Lunde, and Chanel (Ben) Thiry,; great grandchildren; Riley and Tatum Asleson, Blake and Lexi Pachal, Chiara and Anneli Rapkin, and Josephine Christensen; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; parents, Severt and Carrie; infant son; grandson, Dyson Lunde; and brothers, Stanley and Alton Lunde.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN. Final resting place will be at Lake Park Lutheran Church Cemetery following the service.
