Harold Muhle

Harold “Mike” R. Muhle, 82, of Lake Park, MN, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Harold “Mike” R. Muhle was born on Nov. 9, 1933, in Moorhead, MN, to Oscar and Minnie Helseth Muhle. He grew up in Glyndon, MN, where he attended school. Mike worked on road construction and at a gravel pit. During the winters he worked at a potato plant in Glyndon. Mike married Ellen Gebeke on Aug. 10 1955; she died in 2000.

Mike enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, especially ice fishing. He also loved gardening, cooking and being with his friends. Mike was a big dog-lover; he leaves behind his beloved dog, Dill.

Mike is survived by his caretaker and companion, Karen Berg; three sisters, Selma Weatherford, Gina Tang and Irene Hiltwein; two brothers, Kenneth Lois Muhle and Vernon Muhle; and several nieces, nephews, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings, Ole, Norman, LeRoy, Orville, Ethel Muhle and Evelyn Forness.

Memorial Service: Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Interment: St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Lake Park, MN.
