Harold W. Dolva

Harold Dolva 95, Hawley, MN went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Harold was born February 7, 1921 at Walker, MN to Olaf and Alma Hovde Dolva. He graduated from Hawley High School in 1939. He attended the University of MN in 1940, majoring in aeronautical engineering. He served in the Army Air Corps for 3 ½ years.

Harold was united in marriage to the love of his life Maydell Nelson on June 10, 1951 in San Diego, CA.
He worked at Convair Aircraft Company before moving back to Hawley where he owned and operated Dolva Bros. Inc with his brother Roald for 33 years. Harold drove school bus for 50 years for Hawley Public School. After retiring he worked at the Hawley Golf Club until the end of the 2016 golf season.

Harold served on the board of directors for the Hawley Golf Club. He was chairman of the Hawley Rodeo, Hawley Chamber of Commerce, Hawley Lutheran Church, and Hawley City Council.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his greatest passion was golf.

He is survived by his wife Maydell, daughters Karen Dave Gula, Highland Village, TX and Terri Todd Amann, Hawley, MN, grandchildren Jamie Cossette, Lauren Gula, Logan Amann and Audrey Gula and great grandchildren Trayton and Cade Cossette. Brother Vincent Dolva and sisters June Adele Dolva and Doris Jorgenson.

He was preceded in death by his children, Dennis, Jeffery, and Kathryn, his parents, and brother Roald.

Visitation: one hour before services in the church.

Funeral: Friday, January 20, 2017, 2:00 p.m., Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN.

Interment: Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
