Harriet Gudrun Tufton

Harriet Gudrun (Lakeman) Tufton, age 89, of rural Moorhead, MN, died Monday July 5, 2021, in Essentia Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Harriet was born March 12, 1932 at home, rural Borup, Norman County, MN to Dirk and Gudrun (Hovland) Lakeman.  She married Malcolm Tufton on November 8, 1953 at her parent’s home on the farm.  They were married for 55 years until his death in 2009.

Harriet is survived by their 3 children: Cindy Condon, East Grand Forks, MN, Randy (Loni) Tufton, Ada, MN, and Sally (Brett) Peterson, Osage, MN; sisters Helen Madson and Mary Ann Strand; sister-in-law Myrt Tufton; 7 grandchildren: Garrett (Lori) Condon, Sophie Gustafson, Mary (Tyler) Richter, Jessica (Travis) Gentz, Ivy Tufton, Justin (Molly) Peterson and Ryan Peterson (girlfriend Kari Pierce); 8 great grandchildren: Thorbjorn, Lillian, Owen, Warren, Jordan, Gabriella, Avery and Sawyer, 2 step-grandchildren: JJ (Tara) Teal and Andy Teal (Hilary Myers) and 3 step-great-grandchildren: Blake, Cole and Reece.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Goldie Germolus and Bernadine Wambach and brother Ole Lakeman.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Visitation will continue from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at North Buffalo Lutheran Church. The funeral will be livestreamed here beginning at 2:00.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.
