Harry E. O’Neil, Jr.

Harry O’Neil, Jr., Moorhead, MN, died on September 19, 2013, in Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Harry O’Neil, Jr. was born on March 21, 1928, in Moorhead MN to Harry and Eva Rehn O’Neil. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1947. Harry worked for Meinecke Johnson Construction and then joined the U.S. Navy, serving in Korea on the USS Seminole. He married Rosella “Rusty” Strander and they had two children, Kim and Kevin. Together they lived in Mt Clemens, Michigan, and he worked for Western Electric as an installer. After moving to Moorhead, Rosella died on October 15, 1959. He later married Corrine Klabo who died September 5, 1987. He retired from Western Electric in 1984. Harry married Beverly Beyer October 26, 1991.

Harry is survived by his wife, Bev, Moorhead, MN; two sons, Kevin Mary O’Neil, Comstock, MN, and Kim O’Neil, Fargo, ND; sister, Beverly Merril Rivinius, Bismarck, ND; step-children, Dean Diane Beyer, Craig Sue Beyer, and Janelle Beyer, all of Fargo, ND; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Patricia Miller and Delores Bjonfald; brother, Tim O’Neil; and step-son, Michael Beyer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013, at 1:30 pm, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead. A memorial gathering will be one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
