Harvey A. Herfindahl

Harvey A. Herfindahl, age 81, of Lake Park, MN, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, in his home.Harvey Adrian Herfindahl was born on August 28, 1926 to Henry and Regina Johnson Herfindahl in rural Hitterdal, MN. He grew up and attended school Lake Park. He later graduated high school from Crookston Ag School. In 1950 he married Sally Stalboeger in Detroit Lakes, together they had three children. Shortly after they were married they moved to Babbitt, MN, where Harvey worked in the Taconite Mines for several years. He then returned to Lake Park and began working for Cenex for numerous years until his retirement. Harvey was an avid hunter and golfer. He had a fond love for animals, especially his dogs Charlie and Floyd. Harvey was considered a generous person with his time and efforts. He had a laidback personality and carefree attitude. Harvey loved to travel and spent the last several winters in Florida and Texas.He is survived by one son, Bob Herfindahl of Plymouth, MN; one daughter, Carol Herfindahl of Chapel Hill, NC; one brother, Richard Barbara Herfindahl of Rhinelander, WI; two sisters, Eunice Mike Sileo of Dallas, TX and Jean Peterson of Phoenix, AZ; one grandson, Jahlani; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kathleen.
