Hazel M. Krabbenhoft

Hazel Marie Krabbenhoft, 79, died on Saturday, October 20, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Hazel was born on October 10, 1928, to Melvin and Hattie Johnson, in Bejou, MN. She attended school in Bejou and graduated from Mahnomen High School. She briefly attended business college in Fargo, before joining the office of Northwestern Bell Telephone Company now Quest, retiring in 1988. Hazel married Wayne S. Krabbenhoft at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, on May 10, 1958. They had one son, Steven, who resides in Moorhead. Hazel was an active member at Trinity until they transferred to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Moorhead, where she was active in Circle and Young in Spirit seniors group. She was an active member of the Moorhead American Legion Auxiliary, serving as Treasurer for 22 years, a member of Past Presidents, as well as, serving as Secretary and District Treasurer. She spent many hours volunteering at the Fargo VA Hospital, having received her pin for 2500 hours of service. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, and was a great supporter of son's, Steve, bowling and other activities.Survivors include: son, Steven Amy, Moorhead; step grandson, Justin Wright-Pederson, Fargo; sisters, Ardel Engebretson, Oaskis, Hilda Dave Meinz, Lowry, Inez Marvin Setness, Henderson, NV; sister-in-law, Janice Johnson, Halstad; extended family, Corrine Frank Ashenhurst, Karen Andy McCarty, Dick Sharon Krabbenhoft, and Marge Krabbenhoft; as well as, many nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.Our family would like to give a special thanks to Margret Brokmeier, and Ken and Diana Price for all their help and support; and the pastors of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for all of their spiritual help.
