Helen Delphine Benson of Moorhead, MN. Helen Delphine Faust Benson, daughter of John Albert and Sophie Bjornstad Faust, was born on February 25, 1924, in Valley City ND, the youngest of 4 daughters. She was baptized on July 1st, 1924 and confirmed June 6th, 1937 at Nebo Lutheran Church in Valley City, ND. She attended grade school in rural Hobart School, graduated from the College High School and earned a teaching degree from Valley City State University. She taught music and elementary grades in Enderlin and Cooperstown, ND. At Cooperstown she met Robert H Benson and was married to him August 17th, 1947. From there on they taught in Karlstad, Greenbush, Hendrum, and Detroit Lakes, all MN towns. Their last move was to Moorhead, MN where Helen substituted in various schools in the city. She also taught music and gave piano lessons. Her love was the church choir at Christ the King. She belonged to the Elizabeth circle and Welca. She and Bob loved their summers and retirement to Lake Eunice, MN.Helen passed away on March 30, 2010, in Eventide Lutheran Home. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Sundstrom, Audrey Homan, Jeanette Warner and sister in law Dorothy Benson. Her husband Bob passed away in 1997, after 50 years of marriage. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, John and Diane Benson, Moorhead, daughter and son in law, Jeanne and Bill Kauffmann, Plymouth, granddaughter Jordyn Benson, Texas, grandsons Seth and Sam Benson, Moorhead, brother in law, Willard Benson, Moses Lake, WA, dearest cousin, Leona Paulson, Fargo, beloved nieces and nephews in AZ, MN, MT, ND, OR and WA and many wonderful friends, whom she also loved.Please send memorials to Christ the King Lutheran Church, Moorhead, Eventide Lutheran Home or the memorial of your choice.Ephesians 5:18-20Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart, always and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.
