Helene C. Treichel

Helene C. Treichel, 65, 1708 South 18th Street, Moorhead, MN, died on January 10, 2005, in Manor Care Nursing Home, Fargo, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Helene C. Thorson was born on February 28, 1939, near Grygla, MN, to Robert I. and Ellen G. Loven Thorson. She grew up and attended school in Grygla and Nielsville, MN. She worked as a secretary until her marriage. She married Allen Heinrich in 1958 and they made their home in Moorhead, MN. She married Wilfred Pross in 1972 and he died on December 29, 1974. She married James Treichel on July 31, 1976.Helene worked at the VFW in Moorhead, where she was also very involved and had served as VFW Auxilliary President in 1980. She provided child care in her home and was mom to many, many children over the years. Helene was an avid bowler for three decades and loved to play cards and throw horseshoes. She loved going to the lake. She was an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother.Helene is survived by her husband, James Treichel, Moorhead, MN; two sons, Paul Heinrich, Fargo, ND, and Gregory Rae Ann Heinrich, Fargo, ND; four daughters, Deborahe Michael Fairbanks, Moorhead, MN, Rebecca Jon Schroeder, Curtis, Nebraska, Melinda Swanson, Moorhead, MN, Elizabeth Stanley Lisenbee, Reno, NV; two brothers, Robert Thorson, Fertile, MN, and Raymond Thorson, Moorhead, MN; eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Elaine Thorson.
