Henry Sauter

Henry Sauter, 92, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, June 12, 2006, in the nursing home.Henry Sauter was born on May 11, 1914, in Herreid, SD, to Henry and Mary Graf Sauter. He lived as a young child in Isabel, SD, and then in Linton, ND. He worked as a farm laborer near Sabin, MN, and then served in the U.S. Army from August of 1942 until December of 1945, serving in the European theatre of WWII. After his military service he farmed near Kragnes, MN, all of his life. Henry married Lorraine Krabbenhoft on October 30, 1941, in Sabin, MN. She died on November 18, 1995. He moved to the nursing home in 1999.Henry is survived by two sons, Harlan Linda Sauter, Georgetown, MN, Gary Sauter, Moorhead, MN; one daughter, Diane Bob Reff, Detroit Lakes, MN; a sister, Elsie Quast, Stockton, CA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and one sister.
