Ida Moberg Hanson, age 89, loving wife of the late Willard, beloved daughter of Paul and Nellie Eggen Hanson deceased, dearest sister or Hubert and Elfie deceased, and brothers Clifford of Austin, TX, and Morgan of Cleveland, OH, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN.Born March 31, 1915 she was the third of five children, all born near Kathryn, ND where her father managed a general store and lumberyard. She attended grade school there and in 1927 her father was made manager of a lumberyard in Kintyer, ND. She attended school in Kintyer through her freshmen year of high school. The lumberyard was closed due to the depression years. Her father in 1931 purchased a lumberyard in Sanborn, ND where she graduated from high school in 1933. She worked in the lumberyard that gave her training in operating a business. In 1935 her brother started a general store in Sanborn. The operated the store for seven years until her brother was drafted in World War II. She moved on to Fargo, ND and lived there with her older sister who taught school in the Fargo public school system. Ida started working for Sears and soon became credit manager for both the main store and also Sears Farm Store. During that time she met and married Willard Moberg in 1948. They lived in Moorhead, MN where Willard was employed by Stenerson Lumber Company. While they both worked, their earnest desire was to have a place on the lake. That desire was fulfilled when they built a home on Lake Lida near Pelican Rapids, MN, while they still maintained a home in Moorhead. Before they retired, their weekend and vacation time was usually spent at Lake Lida. After they retired they spent the summer months at Lake Lida and the winter months at their home in Moorhead.
