Inez Shirley Cossette

Inez Cossette, 90, Moorhead, MN, died on Friday, October 26, 2018, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Inez Krabbenhoft was born on August 6, 1928, the oldest daughter of seven children, at their farm home near Page, ND, to Erhardt and Selma (Skogstad) Krabbenhoft. She grew up at the family farm and attended school at Page prior to moving to a farm near Davenport, ND, and then attended business college in Fargo, ND.

Inez married Morris Cossette on September 15, 1948 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Fargo and they made their home in Moorhead, where they recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.

She worked briefly for Gamble-Skogmo in Moorhead and then Fairmont Creamery in Moorhead before going to work at The Neuropsychiatric Institute (TNI) in Fargo, where she became the business manager. She retired from MeritCare, which had taken over TNI.

Inez and Morris enjoyed many summers at their lake home on Lake Lizzie Minnesota with family, friends, and neighbors and wintered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a time. Inez loved the lake.

She achieved many professional awards and certifications in her career, namely president of Soroptimist International. Outside of her career, she was a member of both the American Legion and the V.F.W. and volunteered at the V.F.W as well as her church, St. Francis de Sales in Moorhead.

Inez is survived by her husband Morris, Moorhead, MN; children Carol (David Jones) Cossette, Wallace, NC, Dianne (Judd) Nelson, St. Paul, MN, and Steven (Kellie) Cossette, Harwood, ND; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; brothers Erhardt Jr. of Moorhead, MN,  Wayne, Fargo, ND; sisters Dolores Swenson, Fargo, ND, Janice (Lynn) Sower, Cody, WY, and Shirley (LaVerne) Skare, Alexandria, MN;

Funeral: Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.

Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church.

Interment: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
