Irene C. Krier

Irene was born February 1, 1923, to Helmer and Selma Ronningen Dunham in Ottertail County, MN. She grew there up and attended rural county school. After finishing school, Irene worked at Gilbertson's Café and later at the Hotel in Barnesville, MN. In 1945, she married Raymond Krier in Barnesville. Together they lived there for a short time before starting a family and moving to Moorhead. She spent the next years raising their daughter, Becky. She worked at Reed Cleaners for a time and later in the school district. In the early 1980's Irene and Ray moved to California where they were able to be closer to family. They enjoyed traveling and in 1995 were able to travel to Norway which Irene had always wanted to do. In 2001 they moved back to Moorhead. Irene had most recently been a resident at Elim Care Center, Fargo. She was a very caring person who always put others before herself. She was very active in the church and taught Sunday school for many years. Irene enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining, but most of all loved spending time with family. She will be dearly missed. Irene is survived by her husband of 63 years, Raymond; granddaughter, Holly Andrew Galombus Watson; great-grandchildren, Ezra and Zane; brother, Herman Deloris Dunham; sister, Rosella Arntson; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky; brothers, Juleen and Robert; and sister, Mavis Regelstad.
