Ivan was born near Ogema, MN, on November 13, 1926, to Arnold and Anna Bullert Kaiser. Ivan was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He attended country school near his home. He married Ardith Hedstrom on January 29, 1950. Carpentry was a skill Ivan learned from his father and brothers. He began his working career as a talented carpenter with Harvey Haugrud and Harry Sahlberg. Later, Ivan taught his passion of building to his sons. Few people could drive around the countryside and tell how a structure was built and that they had worked on that project. His projects included houses, garages, sheds, barns, churches and even furniture. Ivan built all six houses that he lived in. After retiring from being a full-time carpenter, he enjoyed driving tractor for area farmers in the spring and fall. He also had a love for hunting and fishing. You could always call Ivan and get the deer report from "The Woods." Ivan is survived by his daughter, Judy Peter Jensen Kaiser of Hinckley, MN; sons, Joey and Jimmy Lynn of Lake Park, MN; daughter-in-law, Sheri Kaiser of Lake Park, MN; eight grandchildren, Kelsey, Tammy, Shawn, Andy, Dawn, Dana, Joshua and Myna; one great-grandchild, Grace; sister, Evelyn Moe, Detroit Lakes, MN; brothers, Arvid Edith, Detroit Lakes, MN, Donald June, Ogema, MN, and Eugene, Ogema, MN; long-time companion, Maryann Raaen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ivan was preceded in death by his two sons, Jacky 1985 and Jerry 2003; parents, Arnold and Anna; sisters, Delores Zurn and an infant sister.
