Iver Francis Lentz Jr.

Iver Francis Lentz, Jr., 64, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Iver was born on March 29, 1958, to Iver Sr., and Elizabeth (Garlow) Lentz in Hankinson, ND. He grew up in Lidgerwood where he attended and graduated from Lidgerwood High School in 1976. He was active in athletics during his high school years and loved participating in football and basketball. He was united in marriage to Sheila Forster on June 18, 1983, in Lidgerwood. He attended and graduated from M. State University with an associate degree in sales, marketing, and management in 1989.

Iver began his career as a car salesman at Wallworks in Fargo, ND, for many years prior to working for Nereson’s in Moorhead for over 25 years. He loved his job as a salesman and enjoyed working and visiting with his clientele at the dealership. He had many repeat customers and one in particular would say they were “Iverized” after working with Iver. He retired in 2015.

Iver enjoyed golfing and hunting. He loved fishing, especially with his dad in his younger years and with his son and grandchildren in his older years. He also enjoyed many various outdoor activities and getting away to be out in the country. He continued his passion for sports from his younger years by watching football and he particularly enjoyed watching the Vikings. He knew many people from his years at the dealership and could often be spotted stopped in conversation whether he was at the grocery store or out and about. Above all, he loved spending time and getting into trouble with his grandchildren.

Iver is survived by his loving wife, Sheila; children, Sasha (Shawn) Lentz Sazama and Matthew Lentz; grandchildren, Andrew and James Sazama; mother, Elizabeth; siblings, Peggy Smith, Vinnie (Stephanie) Lentz, and Susan (Kelly) Duerr; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Iver, Sr.; brother-in-law, Earl Smith; and mother and father-in-law, Jim and Rosena Forster.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., followed by the Celebration of Life and Livestream at 6:00 P.M., Friday, November 18, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
