Jack Lackman, 77, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at home under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Jack was born May 10, 1939, to George and Katherine Behm Lackman, in Billings, MT, where he grew up and graduated from high school. Jack continued his education at Montana State University in Bozeman where he received his undergraduate and Master’s degree in Agriculture Economics. He served in the U.S. Army, attaining status as Captain before being honorably discharged. He married Dorothy Staley on June 11, 1961, in Billings. Together they lived in several states before settling in Fargo in 1981. Jack retired as the V.P. of Marketing for American Crystal Sugar. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, golfing and billiards, but most off all loved his family. He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy; children, Lori David Zeman of Detroit, MI, Kelly Scott Steffes of Fargo, ND, Randy Zara Lackman of Wausau, WI; grandchildren, Ashley Matt, Justin, Jalen, Lauren, Leah, Jack; step-grandchildren, Micah, Max and Adam; and sister, Barbara Lambrecht.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott; parents, George and Katherine; and brother, Jim.
Visitation: Thursday, November 3, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., in Hope Lutheran Church, South Campus, Fargo, ND.
Funeral: Thursday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m., in Hope Lutheran Church, South Campus, Fargo, ND.
