Jack E. Wagenman, 87, of Detroit Lakes, MN, died Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s, Detroit Lakes, MN.
Jack Evan Wagenman was born February 14, 1930, in Rock Lake, ND, to John and Dessie Cartwright Wagenman and graduated from Rock Lake High School.
He served on a submarine and on a mine-sweeper in the Navy from 1950-1954 during the Korean War. Jack married Judith Keranen on December 19, 1952, at Pearl Harbor, Oahu, HI. Judith passed away in 2014. Following his service, Jack became a diesel mechanic and worked his entire career for International Harvester in Fargo, ND, and Pelican Rapids, MN.
Growing up Jack was an avid hunter, and in retirement he became a Charter Member of the Cormorant Sportsman’s Club. He also loved having coffee with his friends nearly every day.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Pat Duane Miller Wagenman, Benson, MN, Lori Steve Olson, Lake Park, MN; granddaughters, Carrie Corey Knecht, Jodie Tanner Bang; great-grandchildren, Quinn, Peyton, Avery and Dalton and daughter-in-law, Randa Wagenman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sons, Douglas and William Wagenman and brothers, Dean and Rodney Wagenman.
A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2017, with a visitation one hour prior in the Cormorant Community Center, rural Pelican Rapids, MN.
