Jacob Holtan

Jacob Holtan, 24, of Moorhead, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016, in his home.

Jacob Michael Holtan was born September 28, 1991, in Fargo, ND, to Rebecca Holtan and Michael Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, MN. He worked at various places, and most recently was working as a cook.

As a child, Jacob enjoyed playing sports and he played on several baseball and soccer teams in Moorhead. Jacob was very loving, kind and compassionate. He was fiercely loyal and protective of his mom, and everyone that he cared about and loved. Jacob always helped people, and he loved to make people smile. He was extremely intelligent and creative, and he had a wonderful and unique sense of humor.

He is survived by his mother, Rebecca O’Meara Tim Ness, Moorhead; his father, Michael Gena Johnson, Enderlin, ND; his brother, Brenden O’Meara and his sister, Cassidy O’Meara; his step-father, Thomas O’Meara; his step-sisters Chelsea Midthun Logan and Quinn, Megan Johnson and Kaylee Johnson; his grandparents, Gordon Shirley Holtan, Grand Forks, ND, John and Anna Johnson, Perham, MN; his great-grandmothers, Betty Hughes, Fargo and Elaine Johnson, Perham, and several aunts, uncles and cousins; and close friend, Samantha Becker.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sandra Mackichan, whom Jacob had a very special and close relationship with, and his great-grandparents, Ray Mondry, Alice and Martin Holtan, Andy Johnson, and Ed and Marcy Sczygiel.
