James B. Schlanser

James B. Schlanser, 75, Fargo, ND, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
James was born on December 28, 1940 in Fargo, ND, to Fred J. and Elsie M. Frisk Schlanser. He grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central High School. He attended NDSU in Fargo and San Jose State in California, where he played football.
James worked for Northern Improvement in Fargo for many years and then in 1973 he and his father started Master Construction. He worked in that business his entire life.
James married Shannon Lomsdal on May 31, 1992 in Elko, NV and they made their home in Fargo.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was also a proud dad and loved spending time with all his children, as well as watching his son Mike’s hockey games.
James is survived by his wife, Shannon, Fargo; sons Erich and Michael Schlanser, Fargo; daughters Andrea David Hammond, Abercrombie, ND, and Ashley Schlanser, Fargo; brother Fred Stacey Schlanser, Jr.; sister Mary Persson, Fargo; stepmother Joanne Schlanser, Fargo; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ryan Mobley, and Casey Kayla Hammond; four great-grandchildren, Shaylynn, Paisyn, John, and Huntley; several nieces and nephews Jay, Jamie and Jackie Skjonsby, Zoey Schlanser, Zach Persson, and Alex Persson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Al and Elna Frisk; parents Fred and Elsie Schlanser; son Henry; and sister Charlotte Skjonsby.
Visitation: Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., in Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
Funeral: Friday, April 15, 2016, at 3:00 P.M., in Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
