James J. Tallakson, 58, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, October 2, 2006, in his home under the loving care of his wife, with the assistance of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Jim was born on February 6, 1948 to James and Ida "Gloria" Bergman Tallakson in Grand Forks, ND. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, MN, graduating in 1966. On October 4, 1966, he married Charlotte Jardine in Sisseton, SD. Together they had three children.Jim served in the US Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He worked as a master plumber for 35 years. After retiring, Jim wanted to use his experience to the glory of God. He spent two winters working in upstate NY as an interim facility director for two different Bible Camps and the last eight years working in maintenance for Pathways Bible Camps. Jim truly enjoyed working with the camp counselors and young campers.Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, wise counsel, practical jokes and teasing. Friends, family and strangers benefited from his ability to solve problems, his generous spirit, and his belief in discretely helping those less fortunate, including sexual abuse victims, the poor and widowed. His greatest joy in life was his family. He took special delight in the antics of his grandsons.He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Charlotte Tallakson, Fargo, ND; three children, Trish Tallakson, Moorhead, MN, Jim Tallakson, Fargo, ND, Marty Shelly Tallakson, Moorhead, MN; four grandsons, Brock, Jimmy, Tyson, and Ethan Tallakson; his mother, Gloria Tallakson, Belfair, WA; five siblings, Joetta Frank Weible, Detroit Lakes, MN, Mark Bev Tallakson, Red Wing, MN, Tom Leslie Tallakson, Parker, CO, Becky Tillis, Port Orchard, WA, Barb Tallakson, Belfair, WA; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, James Midthun Tallakson, his sister, Susan Jeanette Tallakson, and his nephew, Aaron Thomas Tallakson.
