James Robert Lambert, age 81, of Henderson, NV, passed away on March 21, 2024, after a valiant battle with prolonged health issues.
Born on April 16, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA, to Vernie and Lorren (LJ) Lambert, James, affectionately known as Jim, embarked on a life marked by dedication and service. A proud graduate of Redfield High School in South Dakota, Class of 1960, Jim's journey led him to the United States Navy, where he served with distinction aboard the USS Oriskany as a Communications Engineer until 1964.
Following his honorable discharge, Jim's career in sales took flight at Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance, setting the stage for a distinguished tenure in the field, most notably as an Account Executive with the Pillsbury Company.
In the realm of personal milestones, Jim met Janet Williams in Redfield, SD, in 1963 while on leave from the Naval Base in Coronado, CA. Their union blessed them with two beloved children, Cynthia Ann Lambert and Jeffrey James Lambert.
In 1989, a new chapter began as Jim married Diane Etterman Moen, weaving a tapestry of love and shared experiences that spanned 35 beautiful years, with plans to celebrate their anniversary this June.
Upon final retirement in 2010, Jim and Diane treasured their time on Round Lake, MN, Casa Grande, AZ, and Henderson, NV. Jim's passion for NDSU Bison Football and the Minnesota Vikings was a testament to his unwavering loyalty as a devoted fan.
Jim's legacy is honored by his surviving family: his devoted wife of 35 years, Diane Lambert; his loving children, Cindi Tesmer (Brandon) and Jeff Lambert (Tracy); his cherished stepson, Justin Moen (Mary-Alice); his adored grandchildren, Zachary Muller, Toryn Kidd (Joe), Brett Lambert (Nina), Lauren Darrah (Zach), Alexis (Lexi) Anderson (Ian), and Shaye Carter (Joseph); and his treasured great-grandchildren, Mason Darrah, Hunter Darrah, Liam Lambert, Owen Anderson, Marciella Lambert, Evelynn Anderson, and Aspen Darrah.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Lorren J. Lambert and Vernie Emma Lambert; his sister, Joann Kay Rohlfs; his Father-In-Law, Richard Etterman and his stepson, Derek Michael Gordon.
A celebration of Jim's life with Livestream will be held at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN, at 11AM with a visitation one hour before the service on May 3rd, 2024, with lunch to follow. Interment at Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND, on May 3rd at 2PM.
