James M. Buck

James M. Buck, 73, of Hitterdal, MN, died Thursday, August 30, 2012, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fargo, ND. James Montgomery Buck was born on May 9, 1939 in Hitterdal, MN to Lorenzo and Esther Nasset Buck. James grew up in Hitterdal where he graduated from high school. After graduation, he served in the United States Army. He then worked as a police officer in Minneapolis for 22 years. James retired in 1989 and moved back to Hitterdal. James loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and training show dogs. He also enjoyed completing the daily crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. He is survived by three sons, Jeff Buck, Hitterdal, MN, Dan Tracy Buck, Brooklyn Center, MN and David Arney, Kalamazoo, MI; two daughters, Cindy James Moody, Bonneau, SC and Kendra Merriman, Dexter, MI; brother, Vincent Rosalie Buck, Warroad, MN; grandchildren, Hailey Buck and Cindy Antonio Paige, Bonneau, SC, Nathan James Buck, Sioux Falls, SD, Zachary and Alexis Buck, Brooklyn Center, MN; and great-granddaughter, Alaina Paige and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Buck, sister, Mary Mikkelsen and grandson, Cpl. James Buck.
