James R. Johnson

James Robert Johnson, 74, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013.
James was born on January 3, 1939 to Ernest and Ruth Lokken Johnson in Churches Ferry, ND.
The family spent a few years living in California, finally settling in Moorhead in 1955. James graduated from Moorhead High School in 1957 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Army. He became a paratrooper for the Army and served in Germany. James was very proud to have served his country as a paratrooper. James attended 3 years of college at NDSU and was a very gifted artist, especially in sculpture, painting and woodcarving. James was especially proud of his daughter, Shannon.
James is survived by his daughter, Shannon Amundson of Gig Harbor, WA; sisters Esther E. Stenzel, Sioux Falls, SD, Darlene Don Reiter, Fergus Falls, MN, Sharon Kenny Gray, Golden Valley, ND; brothers Cordell Lorelei Johnson, Halstad, MN, Lester Johnson, Halstad, MN, Rodney Cheryl Johnson, Fargo, ND, Randy Johnson, Moorhead, MN and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents.
