Jami Hagen Nylander, 46, passed away in Fargo, on January 5, 2025.
Jami Leigh Hagen was born on November 9, 1978, to Jerry and Marlene (Christianson) Hagen in Fargo. She attended schools in Fargo and Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High in the Class of 1997. Friendly, fun-loving, and vivacious, Jami forged many lasting friendships. She thoughtfully celebrated friends and family with creative cards and gifts.
After high school, Jami completed coursework in Nursing and worked in the medical field.
Jami married Andrew Nylander on May 19, 2001, in Moorhead. They welcomed son Collin in 2004, and twins, Cameron and Mea in 2007. Jami and Andy separated in 2014. Jami and fiancé Michael Weed hailed the arrival of daughter Saylor in 2016.
In motherhood, Jami shone. She gloried in the activities and accomplishments of her children, committing every occasion to film, from the first day of school to concerts and grand marches. She enthusiastically planned birthday parties, cheered her children’s sports teams, served on committees, attended band concerts, and happily shopped for different occasions. Some of Jami’s happiest times were spent with family at the lakes.
Jami’s talents and hobbies reflected her strong aesthetic sense. This sense inspired her fashion tastes, flare for style, and her appreciation for art and beauty. Jami had an eye for decorating and arranging a room. The artistry of her drawings, scrapbooks, collages, and cards in prominent.
Jami bravely persevered through a long and difficult battle with gastroparesis.
Jami is survived by her four children, Collin Nylander, Cameron Nylander, Mea Nylander, and Saylor Weed, all Fargo, ND; ex-husband, Andrew Nylander, Fargo; parents, Jerry and Delphine Hagen, Moorhead; sister, Christa Hagen, Fargo; brother, Steven (Ann) Hagen, Moorhead; aunt, Karen (Dean) Haarstick, Vergas; uncle, Paul Christianson, Vergas; mother-in-law, Kathleen Nylander Maher, Fargo; cousin, Paul Haarstick, Vergas; nephews, Ethan Erickson, Fargo, and Drew Hagen, Moorhead; niece, Rylie Hagen, Moorhead; additional extended family; special friend, Troy Kelly with Parker and Madison, Fargo.
Jami was preceded in death by her mother, Marlene Christianson Dahl; fiancé, Michael Weed; and grandmother, Alvilde “Toots’ Christianson.
Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 P.M., followed by the memorial service at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
