Janelle Beyer was a caring and compassionate mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world after an unexpected illness on May 10th, 2024, at the young age of 67. She was a very vibrant, strong, and independent woman who had a great sense of humor and sarcasm that will be missed by all.
Janelle was born to Edward and Beverly Beyer on New Years Day, 1957. Her family moved to the Fargo, Moorhead area in 1965 where she continued to live for the rest of her life. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1975. While in high school, she met her first husband Jeff Kooren and together they had a daughter, Sarah, in 1974. Together with her second husband, Wayne Tursso, she had a son, Anthony, in 1981. Later she would become a Nana to her two grandchildren Matthew and Hailee Jorgensen.
Janelle worked as a Direct Support Professional with Connections in Moorhead, MN for over 35 years. She really enjoyed her job and over the years helped her clients learn job skills, independent living, and how to be a part of the community around them. She had a unique way of connecting with her clients, remaining tough yet caring.
Janelle often knew someone no matter where she went. Throughout her life she has had many friends, including her Jr. High pack of friends called ‘The Dirty ½ Dozen Plus One’ and her co-workers who jokingly called themselves her work spouses. When Janelle was not working, she enjoyed going camping, fishing, and to the casino. She also enjoyed going to plays, crafting, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her cats. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and supported them as much as she could.
Janelle was proceeded in death by her parents Edward and Beverly and her brothers Michael and Craig. She is survived by her children Sarah (Lee) Jorgensen and Tony Tursso, her brother Dean Beyer, her grandchildren Matthew and Hailee Jorgensen, her sister-in-law Sue Beyer and sister in love Twyla Kallod, nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 4:00 PM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN. A light meal will be served following the service before burial at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
