Janice L. Kalahar

Janice L. Kalahar, 87, of Moorhead, MN, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Janice was born March 24, 1936, in Crookston, MN, to Lowell “Gus” and Alma (Anderson) Geving. She grew up in rural Lockhart, MN, where she attended and graduated from high school. Following high school, Janice continued her education at La Maur/Bruno School of Hair Design in Fargo. Janice spent nearly 40 years in Minneapolis, MN, before moving back to Fargo/Moorhead in 2002. Janice enjoyed visiting with family, socializing with others, loved traveling to Arizona to see her sister and going to the Senior Center with her mother.

Janice is survived by her nieces and nephews, Scott (Carla) Geving of Hope, ND, Shannon (Jim) Noah of Crookston, MN, Shar Heck of Fargo, ND, Todd Saf of Hope, ND, Shayne Saf of Glendale, AZ; sister-in-law, Shirley Sannes of Fargo, ND; and many cherished cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell “Gus” and Alma; her twin brother, Jerome “Bud” Geving; sister, Lyla Saf-Knippenberg; and longtime partner, Wayne Dahl.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 14, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Ada Cemetery, Ada, MN.
