Janice L. Miller

Janice L. Miller, 91, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Farmstead Care, Moorhead, MN.

Janice LaVonne Rosenfeldt was born on March 13, 1927 in Moorhead, MN, to Henry and Ella (Krabbenhoft) Rosenfeldt. She grew up in Sabin, MN, and attended grade school in District 9 before graduating from Moorhead High School in 1944.

On November 23, 1946, Janice married Loren Miller at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin.  They enjoyed traveling for many years in their motorhome and loved going on cruises and taking fishing trips to northern Minnesota.

Janice and Loren lived throughout the area including Fergus Falls, Barnesville, where Janice worked at Potato Flake Plant, Mayville, West Fargo, where she worked at Gills Draperies and was also part owner with Loren of the Nugget Café & Lounge.  She later worked at Zales Jewelry in West Acres mall before transferring to Zales in Mesa, AZ, where she lived for 30 years.  Janice retired in April of 1990 and Loren passed away on January 24, 1997.  Janice loved to dance and later met Gordy Ostrander, who became her dance partner.

Janice was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran in Sabin.  She was baptized, confirmed and married there.  Janice moved back to Moorhead in 2012 and into Farmstead Senior Living.

Janice is survived by her sister, Arlene (Donald) Dickelman; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Jill) Berg, Gregory (Sherrie) Berg, Jane (Tom Johnson) Beare, Deborah Rosenfeldt, David (Mary) Rosenfeldt, Scott (LaRae) Rosenfeldt, Lisa Rosenfeldt, Hal (Karen) Dickelman, Laurie (Joe) Moore, Carla Dickelman; sister-in-law, Ardis Rosenfeldt and brother-in-law, Bob Berg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Velma; brother, Loren; niece, Diane and good friend, Gordy.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley and Farmstead Care for the wonderful care they provided for Janice.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice, Trinity Lutheran Church of Sabin or the charity of your choice.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN.

Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin, MN.
