Jason A. Schumann

Jason, known by many as "Tuba", was born January 7, 1984 at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, in Tucson, AZ, to Jim and Candie Glisson Schumann. He moved to Hawley in 1999, and graduated from Hawley High School in 2002. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was stationed at Ft. Polk, LA. He currently was on his second tour of duty in Iraq. He held the rank of Sergeant and was a selfless leader, always putting his fellow soldiers' needs before his own. Jason married his wife Laura on May 6, 2004 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He liked to sail and also build sailboats, and enjoyed cross country running. He was a talented artist and enjoyed writing historical fiction. He is survived by his wife, Laura Schumann, England; one son, Joe Schumann; father, Jim Sherry Schumann, Hawley, MN; mother, Candie Russell Toth Glisson, Fargo, ND; two brothers, James, Fargo, ND, and Ben, Hawley, MN; step-brother, Brent Anderson, Moorhead, MN; two step-sisters, Kayla, Hawley, MN, and Kristie, Hawley, MN; grandparents, Gary Barb Schumann, Waubun, MN; and step-grandparents, Bud Shirley Beckett, Glyndon, MN.
