Jason A. Smith

Jason was born July 25, 1969, in Grand Forks, ND, to Alan and Jennie Viken Smith. He grew up and attended school in Galesburg, ND, graduating in 1988. He went on to attend North Dakota State College of Science. He was employed by Lajeune Steel Company as a welder and was proud of his work on the new Minnesota Twins and Gophers stadiums. Jason enjoyed traveling, spending time outdoors, nature and time at the lake waterskiing and fishing. He was a hard working, caring person who enjoyed helping others, but most of all enjoyed spending time with family. He will be dearly missed.Jason is survived by parents, Alan and Jennie Smith of Audubon, MN; brother, Murray Donna Smith of Clive, IA; sister, Paula Winter of Stillwater, MN; nieces, Kayla and Christine Winter and Samantha Smith; nephews, Jordan and Tyler Smith; grandparents, Victor and Dorothy Smith of West Fargo, ND; uncle, Terry Lavonne Smith of Centralia, WA; aunts, Danae Eric Delman of Alexandria, VA, Leanna Kaare Aarsvold of Blanchard, ND, Rosalie Brian Ross of Estevan, Saskatchewan; and several cousins.He was preceded in death by grandparents, Lawrence and Lena Viken; uncle Arhlen Aarsvold, and good friend Melanie Christopherson.
