Jason E. Foard

Jason E. Foard, age 43, of Moorhead, MN, died on Sunday, October 7, 2012, in his home due to cardiac health issues.Jason Edmurl Foard was born on February 9, 1969 to Merlin and Laureen Narveson Foard in Fargo, ND. He grew up and attended school in Fargo and in Forest Lake, MN, graduating from Forest Lake High School. Jason then entered the United States Army in 1989, serving for over three years before being honorably discharged in 1992. He then attended chef school at the Minnesota College of Arts in Minneapolis. Jason worked several different jobs as a chef in the Twin Cities area before moving to China where he worked as a chef. Jason moved back to Minnesota in 2006. Jason will most miss seeing his daughter growing up. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Anja at the park, playing games, reading books and exploring science and nature together.Jason suffered from end stage congestive heart failure and was on the heart transplant list for over two years. Jason's body was generously donated to the University of Minnesota, Anatomy Bequest Program, at his request.He is survived by his parents, Merlin and Laureen Foard of Fargo, ND; daughter, Anja Foard of Moorhead, MN; siblings, Eric Foard of Rome, Italy, Sonja Foard of New Haven, CT and Meghan Foard of Jonesboro, AR; his paternal grandmother, Mae Foard of Fargo, ND as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
