Jay M. Pedersen

Jay Milo Pedersen, age 55, of Hawley, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Jay was born on August 17, 1963 in Ashland, WI.  Jay grew up in West Fargo, ND graduating from high school in 1981. Following graduation, he attended Moorhead Technical College where he received a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Jay worked for various companies enjoying underground construction, finding his place at Agassiz Underground for the last 13 years.

Jay was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, starting at the age of 2, and hunting anything he was able. He was a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, rarely missing a game of either team. In his spare time, Jay also enjoyed reading, especially history, gardening and listening to the calling of the loons.

Jay is survived by his wife of 2 years, Cheryl Hagen; mother, Viola (Ole) Pedersen; sons, Michael Pedersen, Brandon Pedersen, Tyler Pedersen, Tyler Raben, Cody Pedersen, and Rick Boit; daughters, Angie (Matt) Benyon and Chelsey Boit; sister, Jan (James) Carlson; many grandchildren; and Jay’s little buddy, Simon.

Jay was preceded in death by his father, Milo Pedersen.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 1:00 P.M., with a visitation starting at 12:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.
