Jean Evenson

Jean Evenson, 79, Moorhead, MN, died on Sunday, October 3, 2010, at her home in Moorhead, MN.Patricia Jean Wallace was born on March 13, 1931, in Fargo, ND, to George and Mildred Schnelle Wallace. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from high school there and then obtained a degree at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Jean married John B. Evenson on September 8, 1950, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Moorhead where she was a devoted homemaker and wife. They raised thirteen children, including three sets of twins. Jean served as a seamstress for many in the community and for the past thirty-five years, operated Summer House Antiques. She was highly regarded for her expertise in Antiques and taught some Moorhead Community Education courses about them. She loved gardening, art and playing the organ. Her door was always open to family and friends and she always had a fresh pot of coffee ready. She loved her family.Jean is survived by her husband, John Evenson, Moorhead; six sons, George Evenson, Missouri, Jon Evenson, Fargo, Paul Paulette Evenson, Pelican Rapids, MN, Joel Carol Evenson, Burnsville, MN, Peter Jodi Evenson, Moorhead, and Michael Evenson, Moorhead; seven daughters, Melanie Engel, Orlando, FL, Carrie Arturo Torres, Lubbock, TX, Rita Craig Potts, Owensboro, KY, Roberta Evenson, Sunnyvale, CA, Lia Herbie Helgeson, Sisseton, SD, Ann Evenson, Rochester, MN, Laura Randy Dale, Albany Oregon; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
