Jeanette E. Kuehl Knutson, 84, Moorhead, MN, died on Sunday, November 4, 2007, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.Jeanette E. Kuehl was born on May 9, 1923, near Sabin, MN. She was the 2nd child born to a family of 6 to Johnnie and Francis Kuehl. Jeanette was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Sabin. She attended twelve years of school in Glyndon, MN, graduating in 1941. Jeanette chose to work as a waitress for many years in Moorhead at the Bluebird and Woods cafe's. On March 3, 1957, Jeanette was united in marriage to Ralph Knutson of Felton. They farmed near Felton on Ralph's home place throughout their married life. It was always a happy time going to their home for family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving. Jeanette was a great cook. She always made fresh bread like her mother taught her to do. In 1973, Ralph was killed in a pickup accident east of Felton. Jeanette and Noreen remained on the farm until Noreen graduated. They moved to Moorhead in 1976 and purchased her condominium where she lived until her death. Gary continued to farm the land. It was highlight in Jeanette's life for her and Noreen to visit the farm in the summer and mow the lawn each week. Then they'd make a stop at the Felton Cafe for a quick visit with the Felton friends and a cup of coffee. Jeanette had a phenomenal memory for birthdays, anniversaries, deaths and such. She was a family historian. It was a very sad time in for Jeanette in 2004 when her only son, Gary, died of a sudden heart attack. Jeanette had been active in the Felton American Legion Auxilliary, the Felton Community Club, Moorhead V.F.W., and had been a member of the Gloria Dei church in Felton, where she was active in ladies aid.Jeanette is survived by her daughter Noreen, Moorhead and her special friend Chad Desing of Fargo; three grandchildren, Jonathan Sara Knutson, James Holly Knutson, and Karen Grandan Knutson Barbee; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Mildred Kuehl, Glyndon, MN, Norman Kuehl, Fargo, ND; two sisters, LaVon Ford, Hawley, MN, and Arlene Donald Holm, Lake Park, MN. She will also be missed at her special Wednesday lunch date with cousins and friends. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband and son. She leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
