Jeffrey “Jeff” Dahlberg

Jeffrey Marvin Dahlberg, age 64, of Hawley, MN passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 under the care of Hospice House at Sanford Health Medical Center in Fargo.

Jeff was born on September 29, 1955 in Fargo to Marvin and Doris (Jellum) Dahlberg. Jeff graduated from Shanley High School in 1974. He began working at West Acres in maintenance, then Cablecom, before transitioning to Robert Gibb & Sons where he worked as a plumber for over 25 years.

Jeff met the love of his life, Kay Dobberstein, and they were married on August 1, 1992 and have been by each other’s side ever since. He had a big heart and cared deeply for Kay, his family, and friends.

In his younger years, Jeff enjoyed bowling and softball with so many people who became close and loyal friends through the years. He created cheapseeds.com, a website he was very proud of and has sold a variety of flower seeds for many years. Jeff built his dream log home in the country for him and Kay with the help of his Dad and other family members. He and Kay designed a beautiful landscaped yard that they have enjoyed for years.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kay; mother, Doris Dahlberg; siblings, Mona (Ron) McLean, Becky (Michael) Volness, Jennifer (Michael) Breuer, Michael (Shannon) Dahlberg, Mary (Kate) Dahlberg, Lisa Schmidt, Juli (Steven) LaFlamme, and Mark (Bob) Dahlberg; mother-in-law, June Dobberstein; siblings-in-law, Mary Jo (Tom) Messelt, Nancy (Doug) Rensvold, Susan (Tom) Muehlberger, and Scott (Insaf) Dobberstein, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Marvin; father-in-law, Gordon Dobberstein; and many relatives and close friends.

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hawley’s REACH organization, Feed My Starving Children, or the Great Plains Food Bank.
