Jeffrey Edwin "Jeff" Enkers

Jeffrey Edwin “Jeff” Enkers, 65, of Moorhead, MN, passed away in his home on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

Jeff was born on March 19, 1959, to Duane and Delores (Wood) Enkers in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up in Breckenridge where he was baptized and confirmed in the 1st United Methodist Church, graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1977. He attended North Dakota State School of Science where he graduated in 1979 before attending MSUM where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in business. He worked at various jobs until he met the love of his life, Tami Lobitz from Sabin, MN. They were united in marriage on April 19, 1985, at the 1st United Methodist Church in Breckenridge, MN.

Jeff and Tami moved to Moorhead, MN, where they raised their family. Jeff began his career with the Burlington Northern Railroad as a train engineer until his retirement in 2018.

Jeff absolutely loved the Vikings and would take his family to the home opener every year, an event known as the Enkers Family Fun Weekend. He enjoyed watching all the local sports events and going to concerts in town. He preferred the outdoors, enjoying camping, going for walks, or a long drive around the lake. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, of whom, he will be sorely missed.

Jeff is survived by his children, Kyle (Caitryn) Enkers and Tessa Enkers; grandchildren, Ireland and Lachlan Enkers; grandpuppy, Olivia; siblings, Colleen (Rick) Abel, James (Kathy) Enkers, and Gail Enkers; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tami; parents, Duane and Delores; nephew, Bob Abel; and sister-in-law, Sandy Rasmussen.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 1, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Sabin, MN, following the service in Moorhead.
