Dr. Jeffrey C. Harvey

Dr. Jeffrey Clyde Harvey, age 74 of Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 22, 2023. He was born on May 14, 1949, in Baltimore MD. He is the son of Ruth Esther (Luttrell) Harvey of Baltimore and Elmer Clyde Harvey of Lexington, TX. Jeffrey grew up in Towson, MD, and graduated from Towson High School in 1967. He met his wife Shery E. Arneson at The Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health in Baltimore. On July 1, 1983, they were married at The Norwegian Seamen's Church in Baltimore, MD. Jeffrey received his Sc.D. in 1979 from The Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health in Baltimore. He received his D.D.S. from the University of Maryland in 1984 and completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Minnesota in 1986. In 1989 he purchased the orthodontic practices of Dr. Russell Johnson in Detroit Lakes, MN, and Dr. Robert E. Mckibben in Moorhead, MN.

Throughout his 28-year career, Jeffrey achieved great success and was highly regarded among his peers and patients before retiring on June 1, 2017. He was a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the Angle Society Midwest Affiliate. Jeffrey loved the field of orthodontics. He was a consultant to the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. He also co-founded the Harmony Construction Company which specialized in the restoration of historic homes in Baltimore. Jeffrey was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #116 of A.F. & A.M. of Maryland, the Tuscan Royal Arch #42 of the York Rite, and the Boumi Shriners Temple in Baltimore, MD.

Jeffrey had an eagerness to support the local community. He enjoyed telling jokes and funny stories, loud rock & roll music, vibrant Hawaiian shirts, and flu shot parties. He enjoyed meeting new people, visiting with family and friends, and traveling to Ocean City, MD, Dog Skin Lake in Manitoba, Canada, and Yountville, California.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife Sheryl of 40 years; 4 children: Allison A. (Nick Salmon) Mukilteo WA; Thomas A. Harvey (Hollie Beebe) and Logan Beebe, Vancouver, WA; Elizabeth N. Harvey (fiance Ryan Habedank), Fargo, ND; Brian Geddes (Ashley Holzhausen), Fishers, IN; his sister Janis R. (Steven Malan) Upperco, MD; brothers: Richard W. Maxwell, Jr. Preston, MD, and Patrick D. Maxwell, Oxford MD; and Mary Ross, Matawan, NJ; grandchildren: Archer, Warren, Vivian, and Lorelai, and many other family members. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Elmer Harvey and many loved aunts and uncles. He is also preceded in death by Florence Mae Duncan Maxwell and Thomas Henry Ross.

Services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, 210 7th Street South, Moorhead, MN 56560. Visitation from 9 AM to 11 AM with the service at 11 AM.
