Jeffrey W. Halgunseth, 61, Lake Park, MN, died on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Jeff was born on May 12, 1959 in Moorhead, MN, to Robert and Gloria (Simonson) Halgunseth. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1977. Jeff married Cathy Narum and they had two girls, Sara and Kari. They were later divorced. He had nine wonderful years with his significant other, Sue Foster, beginning in 2012. Jeff began his life-long career in automotive sales at Hall GMC in West Fargo. He had an effortless way of connecting with anyone he met and a desire to always help his clients find exactly what they needed. If anyone in the family needed a vehicle, Jeff was always the go-to for help. From Hall GMC, he moved to Luther in Fargo, Vision Ford in Wahpeton, and spent the last 7 years of his career at Norseman Motors in Detroit Lakes. Jeff was always offering a helping hand, extremely loyal to his friends and family, incredibly hard-working and could have a carefree attitude while carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.

He moved to Middle Cormorant Lake in 2012. Jeff and Sue loved being at the lake and enjoyed riding Jeff’s Harley Davidson Motorcycle. They enjoyed taking trips together and spending time with friends and family. Some of Jeff’s favorite moments were spent on his deck with some wine and classic rock playing in the background, watching the sun set over the lake. He loved watching his grandkids run and play in the lake and sitting around the fire chatting with his daughters. Jeff’s kindness and smile will be sorely missed.

Jeff is survived by his daughters, Sara (Matt) Lau, Moorhead, MN, Kari (Ryan) Hill, Moorhead, MN; mother Gloria Halgunseth, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren Wyatt, Sophia, and Maverick Lau, and Zachary and Olivia Hill; four siblings, Nancy (Jeff) Hanson, Walker, MN, Richard (Della) Halgunseth, Huntsville, AL, Lori (Jim) Lippert, Ramsey, MN, and Robert Halgunseth, Moorhead, MN; and his significant other, Sue Foster, Moorhead, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Halgunseth.

The memorial service will be on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 3:30 P.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, with visitation from 1:30 until 3:30 P.M. Attendance at the service will be limited to 75 people and there will be a livestream available at 3:30 P.M.
