Jerome Anderson was born March 25, 1930 at Lake Park, Minnesota to Amberg and Ruth Dalager Anderson. He attended rural country school, graduating from Lake Park High School. In 1947 he enlisted in the service and before serving overseas he finished his schooling at the A.C. in Fargo, ND. While serving overseas he served as a teacher in the military and met and married his first wife, Geramin while in Morocco. When he returned to the United States he went to work for the State of New York as a teacher. He and Germain later decided to move back to Lake Park; however once there, his wife Germain was killed in a car accident in Staples, MN, and Jerome was injured. Jerome spent some time rehabbing at St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes and became acquainted with his future wife, Mariela. Despite his hip injury he continued to teach and later grew the "Community Garden" in Lake Park. He was very active in the American Legion. He enjoyed whittling, carving wood, and taking care of his birds. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by a sister Beatrice Duane Wenthin, Columbia Falls, Montana; and a nephew, Daniel Wenthin. Jerome was preceded in death by his first wife, Germain; second wife, Mariela; and his parents, Amberg and Ruth.
