Jerome H. Slager

Jerome Henry Slager, 78, of Hawley, MN died early Friday morning, November 11, 2016 at Prairie View Assisted Living in Perham, MN.

Jerome was born in Crookston, MN on January 25, 1938, the son of Chester and Blanche Valley Slager. On November 1, 1968, Jerome was united in marriage to Connie Slager at Webster, SD. The couple lived in Hawley, MN. Jerome’s occupation was that of a truck driver from which he retired from 13 years ago.

He enjoyed time with his family, classic cars and the process of restoring them. He was an avid deer hunter. Jerome was a member of Hawley Lutheran Church and appreciated pastor Darwin’s visits to the house.

Loving family members include his wife, Connie; five sons, one daughter and three step-sons: Jeff Connie, Greg, Brian Jody, Steve, Karla Russell, Chad Marnie, Terry, Scott, Joey Lisa; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Audrey Slager and Bruce Slager; two sisters, Colleen Dale Fillipi and Shirley Gary Matthews; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother Phillip, a sister Colleen and a daughter Karla.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hawley Lutheran Church with a visitation starting at 1:00 PM.

Interment: Lysne Church Cemetery, rural Hawley, MN.
