Jewel I. Zephier

Jewel Irene Zephier, 69, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at home surrounded by family. Jewel was born July 23, 1946, in Flandreau, SD, to Antoine and Victoria Aungie Zephier. She grew up in South Dakota and later moved to Montana to continue her education. In 1991, she moved to Fargo and worked with Police Dispatch before retirement. Jewel enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Denver Broncos and the Game Show Network. She also loved finding rummage sales, putting on sales of her own and spending time with her family. Above all, her faith in Jesus Christ impacted her life and through Him she was able to be a caregiver to so many. She will be dearly missed.

Jewel is survived by her son, Wayne Mona Eastman; daughters, Charleen Eastman, Darlene Josh Fox, Laryssa Joseph Thompson; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Evon Eastman; 3 brothers, Andy Zephier, Nelson “Brother” Zephier, William “Billy” Zephier; and sister, Antoinette “Sissy” Wince.

Wake Service: Monday, April 4, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., in New Birth Baptist Church, Fargo, ND.

Funeral: Tuesday, April 5, at 1:00 p.m., in Calvary United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND.

Interment: Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
