Jewel M. Lerberg, 94, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died peacefully on Sunday, May 23, 2004, in the nursing home. Jewel M. Vongsness was born on March 30, 1910, in Fillmore, ND, the only child of Ole and Violetta Bedford Vongsness. She grew up there, graduating from High School in Langdon, ND. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead and Interstate Business College in Fargo. She worked at Dakota Clinic in Fargo, ND, from 1934 until 1941. Jewel married Albert E. Lerberg Jr. on August 11, 1935, in Fillmore, ND, and they made their home in Moorhead, at 1114 4th Avenue south. She was the periodical librarian at Concordia College from 1961 until 1972. Jewel was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, where she was faithfully involved in Soup & Talk. Jewel was known for her devotion to Christ, her husband, children, grand & great-grandchildren and many friends. In addition, she opened her home to all, with generous hospitality and love. Jewel is survived by two sons, Albert Danita Lerberg, Fargo, ND, and David Carol Lerberg, Pittsburgh, PA; two daughters, Joyce Locken Richard Knutson, Oakes, ND, and Jane Erie, West Simsbury, CT; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Cowden, Mesa, AZ.
