Joan Margaret Piepkorn

Joan Margaret Piepkorn, 80, of Moorhead, MN passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018, in Eventide – Linden Tree Circle Assisted Living, Moorhead, MN. Joan was born on December 19, 1937 to Archie and Louise (Christensen) Whitmore in Minot, ND.

Joan graduated from Stanley High School, Stanley, ND, in 1955. She then attended the Minnesota School of Business, Minneapolis, MN, where she earned her Associates Degree in Business. Joan moved back to Stanley, ND where she worked as a Legal Secretary. She was united in marriage to Clarence Piepkorn on September 4, 1959. They moved to Fargo where Joan worked briefly before moving to Warren, MN from 1961-1970. They moved back to Moorhead in 1970 where the raised their family for the remainder of their lives.

Joan was a member of the 1^st Presbyterian Church in Moorhead, MN, the Moorhead VFW Auxillary, and Secretary for the Fargo and Moorhead Presbyterian Churches.

Joan is survived by her children, Scott Piepkorn, Stacy (Steve) Scott, and Jon Piepkorn; grandchildren, Jacob Lamb, Brienna (Cami) Lamb, Amanda (Jesse) Shipman, and Ashley Syvertson; great-grandchildren, Colden, Emberlee, and Hadleigh; brother, Jim (Karen) Whitmore; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; parents, Archie and Louise.

A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30PM, followed by the memorial service at 1:30PM, Friday, April 27, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN. Burial of ashes will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND, following the services in Moorhead.
