Joann A. Lamb

JoAnn Audrey Lamb, age 88, of Moorhead, formerly Dilworth, MN, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2019, at Eventide Living Center in Moorhead.  JoAnn was born on March 7, 1931, to Oliver and Mina Griffin in Fargo, ND.  JoAnn grew up in the Averill, MN, area and married Floyd Lamb on December 15, 1947.  They lived in the Moorhead, Downer and Glyndon areas and then in 1962 they settled in Dilworth where they raised their family.  The last 20 years of her life was spent at Eventide at the independent living center, Fairmont assisted living, and the last 10 months at the nursing home, where she lived with the wonderful people of Eventide and made many friends among the other residents and staff.

She enjoyed crocheting (everyone has a blanket or two), cooking (her meatballs were amazing), baking, playing cards, and bingo.  JoAnn even volunteered and worked in the kitchen at Eventide.  She used to love travelling with her family and made a few trips with Floyd and the “kids” to Vegas and never turned down an excursion to the casino.  She loved listening to country music on the radio and watching the Polka dancers on TV.  Shopping at the Dollar store for a candy run was always a highlight in her life.

She is survived by her children, LeRoy (Jean) Lamb, Linda (Gene) Becker, Lois (Louie) Rascon, and David (Lindell) Lamb; grandchildren Donald Tollefson, Dwayne (Denise) Tollefson, Mark (Suzanne) Gardner, Monty Gardner, Ian (Dominika) Hanson, Laura (Wilson) Hickman, Jill (Mark) Bowen, and Michael Lamb; and many generations of great-grandchildren with another on the way; and many other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents, and all her brothers and sisters.

The family of JoAnn Lamb gratefully acknowledges your attendance and many kind expressions of sympathy during their time of loss.  They also want to thank the staff of Eventide for all they did for her over the years she resided there.  Thank you too, to the Ethos hospice home care team for the end of life care those last few days.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2019, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.
