JoAnn Foss passed away in her home on Pelican Lake on May 15, 2008 with God, her family and Hospice by her side. JoAnn was born on April 21, 1940 in Crookston, MN to Ina Mae and Magnus Richard Letnes. She grew up in Climax, MN and moved to Moorhead, MN in the 8th grade.In the 9th grade she met her lifelong companion John and they shared 53 wonderful years together. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past February 1st. JoAnn was a stay at home mom domestic engineer as she called it with the exception of doing some various modeling gigs for the local women's clothing stores. She was also fortunate for 24 years to be able to watch her grandchildren grow and participate in their activities.JoAnn's greatest love next to her family and friends was Pelican Lake. She spent every summer at the lake with her children. She dreaded Labor Day when she had to go back to town so the kids could go to school. She finally got her dream when they made Pelican Lake their year around home in 1992.JoAnn was considered the premier social director in the lakes area. She would organize potlucks for Vikings Games, group II golf events, parties at the sand bar, girl's trips to Mexico, and the list would go on and on. JoAnn is survived by her husband John, 3 children, Mick Stacey Foss of Moorhead, Stephanie Foss grand pups Tosh & Shay Lake Park, MN, Diahann Brad Falconer, Woodbury, MN; 5 grandchildren Jana, Jace and Jeff Foss, Sydney and Kayla Falconer; One brother Ron Letnes of Blaine, MN and her poodle Sassy.JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Letnes.In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for St. Mary's Hospital or Hospice of Red River Valley.
