Joanne K. Wesely

JoAnne Wesely, 65, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Eventide in Moorhead.

JoAnne Kay Gross was born January 1, 1953, in Warsaw, MO, to Leonard and Agnes (Vobora) Gross.  Her family lived in Missouri for about 5 years and then moved to Wyoming for a short time before finally settling in Hawley, MN.  JoAnne graduated from Lake Park High School in 1971 and went on to attend the University of Minnesota, initially in the veterinary science program but eventually graduating with a degree in nursing. She married Brad Wesely in the late 1970’s.  They were married for 10 years and resided in Chisago City, MN.  She spent some time in Mexico, where she developed a love for art, and California, where she attended more classes for nursing.  JoAnne had a love for education, and she also attended school to be a veterinary assistant in Minneapolis, as well as enrolling in programs for architecture and computer programming.  She also attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Minneapolis for cooking.

In 1995 she gave birth to her son, Ryan, and in 1997, her daughter, Renee was born.  The family eventually moved to Moorhead.

JoAnne had a great love for art, especially oil painting, and she participated in several art shows and exhibits in galleries in Minneapolis and Fargo.  She also loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her four cats.

She is survived by her son, Ryan Rockwell, Fargo, ND; her daughter, Renee Rockwell, Mankato, MN; her brother, Tony (Melody) Gross, Hawley, MN; her sisters, Bonnie Mielke, Eagle, WI and Mary (John) Tofte,  Seadrift, TX; her significant other, Jim Adamczyk, and her nieces and nephews, David Tofte, Fargo, Jessica (Jeff) Gfeller, Duluth, MN, Jenna (Ryan) Kinzler, West Fargo, ND, Carmen Gross,  West Fargo, ND, Amber Gross, Valencia, CA, and Katelyn Gross, Morris, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bob and her niece, Kayla.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 23, 2018, at 2:00 P.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley, MN.
