Joanne M. Mckaig

JoAnne McKaig died May 12, 2018 at Eventide on 8^th in Moorhead, MN.

JoAnne Marie McKaig was born in Osseo, WI, on November 4, 1937, the oldest child of Archie and Lillian (Iverson) Sanrope.  She grew up in Osseo where she graduated from high school in 1955.

She was married to Douglas McKaig, for a short time period.  She held several jobs throughout her life.  Her most memorable ones were sales with Max Factor, General Mills and as a stewardess.  The majority of her career were spent in Sales and Marketing. As life takes on various adventures, she also spent several years in Minneapolis, Dallas, Phoenix and most recently Moorhead to be near her family.

As a little girl she loved spending time with her grandparents on their farms.  Her hobbies were knitting and crocheting until her vision did not allow her to continue, and was an avid NFL football fan.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Children’s Hospital in Phoenix.  JoAnne spent numerous hours listening to books on tape.  Her most favorite past time were to spend time with family, a good conversation and eating cookies (if they were small you could eat more).

JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents and brother Archie Sanrope Jr (Sonny).  She leaves behind a son, Mitchell (Kathy) Moorhead; sister, LaRue Witzel (Ron), Stillwater, MN; three grandchildren, Hannah, Ehrin and Mitchell Jr. McKaig; two nephews and one niece.

Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. with a prayer service at 4 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN
