JoGenia Mae Lopez, 50, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017, near Devil’s Lake, ND.
JoGenia was born April 1, 1967, in Seattle, WA, to Douglas and Gene Samuels. She grew up in Seattle and attended Mountlake Terrace High. At the age of 12, she moved with her family to Las Vegas where they resided for 18 years. In 1990 she was united in marriage to Kerry Franklin in Las Vegas and they made their home there and raised two children together. In 2003 the family moved to Fargo. JoGenia was separated from Kerry in 2009 but she found love again with Alberto St. Martin Lopez, Jr. They were married in 2011 in Las Vegas and made their home in Moorhead. JoGenia was employed as a driver for UPS from 2014 to 2017.
JoGenia was very family-oriented and she enjoyed spending time with her grandson, nephews and nieces. She cared deeply about her friends, and everyone was family to her. She liked fast cars and karaoke, and had recently started to enjoy fishing. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
JoGenia is survived by her husband, Alberto; her mother, Gene Samuels; her children, Louis Franklin and Breanna (Rydell) Raile, and her grandson, Sebastian Raile. She was preceded in death by her father and her uncle, Lawrence Edelblute.
Private family services will be held.
