John Borland

John Borland, 67, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.John was born on March 5, 1942, in Fargo, ND. His parents were Verl and Muriel Ehrenberg Borland. He grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1960. He graduated from Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND, with a degree in Accounting in 1964. He received a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. John married Jane Kana on June 24, 1967 in Grafton, ND, and they made their home in Fargo where he worked as a trust officer for local banks, later moving to Moorhead, MN. He sold real estate in Fargo-Moorhead and in 1997 moved to Winchester, Virginia, where he worked in property management and self-storage management. He retired and they moved to Moorhead in 2008. John had two passions, the Masons and Kiwanis. He was a Past Master of Shiloh Lodge in Fargo and had served as Kiwanis Club president and Lieutenant Governor. He was the founder of the Battlefield Shrine Club in Fredericksburg, VA, and served on the board of directors for the North Dakota Scottish Rite Language Disorder Clinic in Fargo, ND. He is survived by his wife, Jane, Moorhead, MN; son Jay Borland, Fargo, ND; daughter Jennifer Borland Benjamin Hagan, Stillwater, OK; sister Mary Judge Richard Goldberg, Vienna, VA.Memorials may be given to the North Dakota Scottish Rite Language Disorder Clinic in Fargo, ND.
